New game, just under deadline… kinda

We made it! Just under the gun, no rx has a brand new game! So far, the one-game-per-month challenge has been met. Pathetically, perhaps, but still…

Truth be told, this one was done start-to-finish in a single day (today). It’s a bit rough around the edges, and yes, I’ll probably tweak it in the next day or so, but DAMMIT, it’s here, and it met its Feb. 28 deadline. Barely.

So here it is, Bus Terminal Amusements, Vol I: Guess Which Hand. The name — and the game — may seem a little odd, but we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! It’s that classic game of childhood, “Guess Which Hand,” but it’s been bummed up pretty well with a creepy old man in a bus station. How many quarters can you take from creepy Carl?

Flash 8 player is required! Enjoy, and feel free to let us know what you think about it! Thanks!

Update: I’ve spiffed up the game a bit, and moved it to its permanent home in the Amusements section. Click here to play the game!

New Flash game

The heat is on! (aka, “IOU 1 new Flash game”)

It’s the 31st of January — exactly one month since my cocky statement just before the New Year in which I promised to deliver at least one new Flash-based game per month throughout 2006.

So how’s it going so far?

Well, capsule except for the big blank spot under this post, pills the schedule’s going fairly well. I’m not defeated yet! I still have 22.5 hours (less time alloted to sleep, men’s health work, previous poker tournament commitments and Tivo viewings) to crank out this month’s game.

Honest, it’s coming.

Really. I mean it. Check back before midnight; it should be interesting to see what I can come up with before then!

Flash for cats??! This just might catch on…

Our friends at Hyperology just may be on to something: Flash-based “interactive toys” aimed directly at cats — and the people who feed them. Could a Meow Mix sponsorship be far behind?

Naphthalene claims he made the first such application for his cat… but I’m guessing he really made it for the bigwigs over at Ralston Purina. Or not.

Either way, page cool idea! If anybody tries it out on a 30-inch flat screen, let us know how it goes.

I tend to get myself in trouble every time I pre-announce a new project, melanoma but here goes: Beginning in 2006, diet we here at have resolved to produce and release at least one new Flash game per month. In other words, condom we plan to increase our current stable of games by more than 600 percent by January 2007.

Mainly it’s the allure of fame and fortune that all Flash programmers receive automatically upon the release of a new work. That, and the incredible popularity we gain among women, children and domestic animals with each new release. Not to mention the amazing… um… delusions of grandeur we experience when we triumphantly announce, “Oh, wait, hang on… try this version…”
